truck
TOM S asked:

I have a 1977 Ford truck that I use only for plowing snow and hauling firewood. It is parked at the edge of a field and, lately, I have found black snakes living in the cab. I don’t want to kill them, but I don’t want them riding along with me when I drive the truck every two weeks or so. How can I discourage them from taking up residence in my truck?

snakes don’t like crossing a well groomed lawn where they can be easily seen so keep your truck in an area that is mowed or weed-whacked.

The first thing I would do is remove any snakes currently residing in the cab. Then move the truck to my garage and find out where they are getting into the cab from. If you find the hole or holes they are getting in from you should be able to fill it with body putty or you can buy aluminum tape. ( Aluminum backed with a very strong adhesive ) This would prevent the snakes from getting into the truck again so you could park it back out in the field.

Hire them, and put them on the clock.
