The school might and that’s a big might take you. BUT getting a job after that. Not likely.
Any one of the truck driving schools will take your money and train you to drive, and you might even get your CDL. Getting hired by any of the companies that need drivers with a felony on your record is NOT going to be easy.
Its going to take a lot of research and hard work to find that company. Generally, the large national carriers like Swift and Warner will hold tight the federal regulations and other legal aspects regarding drug arrests and convictions. If you are looking to simply gain a CDL, there are probably some small local truck driving school in IL who would indeed train you in maybe 5-6 weeks. In fact, they may be will to help you find a company(either national or local)which have looser requirements for drivers. In addition, you might jus t inquire with the larger national carriers just to see what they say–many will train you and put you on the road. In sum, the industry always needs safe and courteous drivers despite their backgrounds or legal issues. Good luck and believe in yourself.
