It doesnt seem to be affecting the way it runs and has been making this sound for a couple years now. Someone suggested i needed a valve adjustment. The trucks engine seems solid and this is probably a minor problem, but i want to provide any necessary maintenance before any serious problems arise. Any advice would be appreciated.

Somebody towed my truck 100 feet when it was in gear. They claim it was fine and would not hurt the truck. They were pulling it on dirt. All of the wheels were rotating except for one, which they said was locked. Truck is a 1985 Ford F150 4×4. Truck was not in 4 wheel drive at the time. Could this of caused any damage to my truck?

I was able to scratch some of it off my hood with my fingernails but you could still see the outline, and I wasn’t that lucky with the sides of my truck or the license plate. We really only make short trips with it, we never really take it on the highway. Actually i dont think its ever been on the highway.
